These were from back in October, and as I catch-up a little bit, I'll start with these of my little sister before her date arrived to pick her up for a school dance. I thought she looked lovely and her dress was so pretty! She is looking far too grown-up for me in these photos. They almost look like bridals and that's scary to think of (for me). But they are just for a high school dance, so that's ok:)

This stroll was actually from a couple of Sundays ago. This little hike was beautiful. (It would be a beautiful photo location!) I was impressed how far Westin was able to walk by himself without needing to be carried. I think he walked halfway, then on the way back daddy put him on his shoulders.

Kylie was the sweetest little thing! She slept for us during the family pics but when it was her turn to shine, she wanted to be awake for all the action.
This allowed us to see her beautiful eyes!

Westin is becoming quite the talker! He says so many words. He repeats most of the words that we say. Some of the things he says are "thank you", "please", "all done", "stop", "let's go", "Jesus", "moon", "stars", "lap", "doggy", "baby", "buddy", "dude", "ride", "yum-yum", "mo-mo (elmo)" and sometimes he'll say "morning" when we go into his room in the morning. He says "bye-bye" to the cashiers when we are leaving, when a car drives by, and he says it to the bath water as it's going down the drain. Recently he has been such a terrible eater. Whatever happened to my good little eater!??? He's become pretty picky. He loves music and loves to dance. And he likes to be silly and make us laugh:)

These were taken while we were in St. George last weekend. He wasn't in the picture taking mood in the least bit. He loves the outdoors and wanted to explore, not sit still on a rock. So he wasn't thrilled when we wanted him to do just that, sit still on a rock. I took a few and let him continue exploring and collect rocks in his hand!

I'm not super big on Valentines Day, but it's difficult to not like it when your sweet husband is out buying some cold medicine for himself and he comes home with this for me.

I tend to wait too long to get out and see the leaves changing before they are gone. This year we made it out at a perfect time. I only wish we'de gone out more. I just can't get enough of it. This place was so pretty. I could totally picture myself lying in this field all day long with no cares in the world!

Our little tiger wasn't a very happy tiger. Teething has made this week (or weeks) sorta hard for the little guy, but he was a good sport and let momma get some costume pictures.

Perry Peaches

Ever since I can remember my family has taken yearly trips up to Perry to get bushels and bushels of fresh peaches from a farmer my dad is friends with up there. Westin and I made the trip up with them this September. We filled the entire back part of the car with delicious peaches. The smell of peaches takes over the whole car on the drive back.

After we filled the car with peaches, we stopped by a local food stand to grab some vegetables. Outdoor food stands are so much more fun than the grocery store and more fun to photograph too;)

I had the opportunity to photograph my (gorgeous) cousins family and their adorable son in honor of him turning one. This is such a lovely family. Not only are they such a good looking family, they are so loving and sweet. They adore their little boy so much. They had a great celebration for his 1st birthday recently. It's been fun to watch him and my own little guy grow up this past year because they are so close in age.

Meet pretty little Marie. Marie recently turned 2, so her mom, a dear friend of mine, asked me to take some pictures of Marie. As with any child, Marie wasn't too fond of posing for the camera, but it's hard to not get a ton of cute pictures when my subject is so darn cute! This turned out to be some of my very favorite work so far. I have so many favorites.

This is a first time preview for Marie's mom and dad. Marie and her family moved to Japan just a few days after our session. They won't get the pictures in the mail for awhile so I wanted to give them a preview so they wouldn't have to wait so long to see them!

This is my pretty little sister, McKenzie (but she prefers "Kenzie"). We finally got around to doing pictures for her 16th birthday. She turned 16 back in January. We took these in the tail end of May and I am finally posting them. I can't believe my little sister is 16. Even though we're 10 years apart in age and it seems like we're in completely different worlds, we've always connected really well and we have so much fun together. Kenzie is one of the funniest people I know. She has so much personality and so much heart. Love you Kenz!

Can you believe this beautiful lady is my mom?! Yeah, pretty much my mom is gorgeous. I wish I looked more like her and I hope to look half as pretty as she does when I'm her age. Can you believe she is turning 50 this year?!?! I sure can't. Hopefully she won't care that I say her age, but I don't think it matters because she definately doesn't look it. You really should model mom!

Here's a look at the most incredible and adorable little cupcake place I have ever seen. It's called So Cupcake. This place is adorable. It's soft pink, girly decor and the delicious array of cupcakes to choose from, makes this place a little girls dream! Not to mention, the story behind this place is so sweet as well. They have 5 everyday flavors and they pick 5 additional specialty flavors to make every as well. It's so hard to choose. I will also mention that the employees are incredibly friendly. They told me to take as many pictures as I wanted. And so I did.

I found the cutest little crocheted infant hat at the Festival of Trees and just had to buy it. It fit Westin like it was made for him. I was excited to get some pictures of him with it on. However, he wasn't as excited as I was. I only got one or two good picture of him before he had had it with the hat and picture time. So I had to get the rest of them once he was asleep. He's much more cooperative that way.

...Cuz I'm back!!!!!! I've been away from this blog for far too long. I miss it. Here are a few reasons why I've been gone.

1. I had a baby

Wait, I guess that's about it! He pretty much has consumed ALL of my time and energy for the past 3 months. He seems to be one of those babies that like their mama and want her to hold and play with them all day long. What's up with that? I don't know. No, that wouldn't be fair to blame him completely! I've not managed my time very well. Though I've had the camera in my hand all the time taking pictures of the little dude, I've felt something missing. I need to get out and shoot more! I vow to manage my time better and take more pictures this year. It's my one of my many New Year's Resolutions if you will.

This is my sister-in-law, c'era and her fiance, Trevor. They came up last weekend and we all had a blast with their session. I'm so excited about these. I finally finished editing them and I had the hardest time choosing only a small handful so I posted a ton! We used 4 locations for this shoot. It definitely gave us some great variety!

So excited for our bridal session later this month on the beach in San Diego! yah!

I had been waiting anxiously for my new lens and last week it finally arrived. It's been awhile since I've had a wide angle lens and even then I don't think it was quite like this one. Only today was I able to go out and shoot for fun with it. I love the distorted look and finally being able to get wider shots. It's about time I got this! I can't wait to use it for sessions!

My sister wanted a picture for a Christmas card. I was happy it had snowed. It definately helped give us the wintery look we were going for. The only bad part was that it was FREEZING!!! I'm suprised we stuck it out for as long as we did to get as many shots as we did. I think I have honestly never been so cold in my life!

First off with their good looks and they were just so easy going and they were the ones that came up with the ideas of what to do next! Can't get much more easy than that. They totally spoiled me!

I pulled out the good old Lensbaby in which we purchased last year and took some shots of the lilacs before they disapeared forever. I have yet to really master the Lensbaby. It really toke me probably about 70 shots to get just a few good ones. I'll keep practicing with it and hopefully will master that baby someday.
